Hi friends! Are you feeling motivated and revitalized following last week’s New Moon in Capricorn? What was your experience like? Did you perform a ritual? In the Constellation Club, we created bespoke time capsules for 2024. They are now sealed, and our hopes and dreams have been sent off to the universe! (p.s. There’s still time to make one!)
This week, we’re squaring off with Neptune, confronting Pluto, and welcoming the Sun to Aquarius’ stage. In other words, intense, transformative energy is in store. You’ll be invited to face your fears, stand up for what you believe in, and engage in thoughtful self-reflection. These can be incredibly challenging tasks, but the more honest you can be with yourself, the better equipped you’ll be to engage in your own transformation. The universe is encouraging you to face your 2024 goals head-on—which necessarily requires a little shadow work.
On Friday, January 19 at 10:49AM ET, Venus at 25° Sagittarius forms a square to Neptune at 25° Pisces, creating an intense 90° relationship that amps up our capacity for imagination and romance, but also delusion and disappointment.
Neptune, represented by the vast expanse of the sea, is a big-picture planet that speaks to fantasy, imagination, mysticism, and the collective consciousness. Consider your relationship to the ocean: With its incredible depths, vibrant sea creatures, azure hue, and frothy waves, it can be an incredibly inspiring, enchanting place. At the same time, it’s a source of immense fear, danger, and destruction—anyone else on North Sea TikTok??
So, when Venus—the planet of love, beauty, values, and relationships—plunges into Neptune’s mysterious waters, it can be hard to distinguish up from down, real from fake, anxiety from intuition. Today, don’t be surprised if you’re confronted with feelings of overwhelm, confusion, or uncertainty when it comes to your relationships or value system. Perhaps you have an unexpected augment with a colleague, or maybe you feel a bit disconnected from your partner and can’t identify why. Fear not: These feelings or misunderstandings won’t manifest as long-term issues, as long as you thoughtfully manage them.
Neptune has a way of making reality feel perplexing, inadequate, or disappointing, compelling us to mold mundane life into something different, or escape from it entirely. Throughout the day (or even the week), you may find yourself fantasizing about the perfect partner or the perfect house or the perfect life, and it’s important that you don’t let these daydreams get the better of you. Left unchecked, you may feel the urge to impose unrealistic expectations on your family, friends, or peers—simply put, don’t.
It’s okay to let your imagination run wild, but instead of trying to transform reality into fantasy or fantasy into reality, funnel your romantic musings into art. Whether you’re an occasional creative or practicing artist, today is a great day to explore your reveries, process your emotions, and express your thoughts through your favorite artistic medium. Trust me, reaching for a paint brush will feel much more grounding and fulfilling than instigating a futile argument with a loved one.

On Saturday, January 20 at 8:46AM ET—right before saying au revoir to Capricorn and entering Aquarius—the Sun fuses with Pluto at 29° Capricorn, forming an incredibly potent conjunction. Pluto is the planet of power, truth, death, and transformation, bringing to light everything that lurks beneath the surface of consciousness. The Sun in Capricorn has sent us on a mission to build a secure, lasting legacy, but Pluto implores us to consider why we’ve chosen that legacy—and reminds us of the importance of the transformation process.
Throughout its past four-weeks in hard-working Capricorn, the Sun—representing identity, illumination, and directionality—has aimed to foster meaning and purpose through well-crafted, long-lasting systems. Now, Pluto is revealing the underlying mechanisms that fuel those systems—and the ways in which they’re falling short. In other words, this a great opportunity to do some much-needed (and perhaps long-ignored) maintenance and pruning in your life. Maybe you need to report a concerning power dynamic at work, or have a serious conversation with a friend about the state of your relationship, or engage in some important shadow work to address a self-limiting behavior. We all have the tendency to sweep things under the rug, but today you’re encouraged to uncover uncomfortable truths. You have the opportunity to dig deep, and my recommendation is to seize it wholeheartedly.
You may also be called to reflect on your relationship to large-scale institutions. Capricorn is associated with government and big business, so this illuminating collision between the Sun and Pluto has the potential to unveil the ways in which your values and actions are supporting or resisting the decisions of the people—and corporations—in power.
Today, get really truthful about what you want to leave behind in Capricorn Season, and what you want to repair before officially entering Aquarius Season. A Pluto transit is a time to deal with the icky, sticky stuff of life that dwells in the shadows. While it can be a challenging invitation, it yields empowering, essential transformation. Out with the old, and in with the new, right?
On Thursday, December 21 at 10:27PM ET, the Sun officially shifts out of Capricorn’s stoic domain and cruises into Aquarius’ progressive realm. The Sun represents identity, will, vitality, and joy. In the sign of Aquarius, it desires to be seen and appreciated for its intellect, opinions, and forward-thinking spirit. Symbolized by the water bearer, Aquarius holds the world’s sensitivities in its hands, maintaining enough distance from them to think up equitable solutions to society’s challenges.
But, wait… how did we get from Capricorn to Aquarius? How can we maintain the systems we built during Capricorn Season, while also making space for innovation and progress? How do we reconcile our present circumstances with our hopes for a more just future? When we venture into Aquarius Season, we’re not abandoning our individual goals or the hard work we did during Capricorn Season. Instead, we’re called to think critically about how our personal ambitions, endeavors, and beliefs impact the communities—both local and global—we inhabit. While Capricorn’s tenacity and resourcefulness allowed us to build towards a more secure future for ourselves, Aquarius now implores us to consider how we can utilize our personal goals and actions to revolutionize the status quo and advocate for a more equitable society at large.
Aquarius is on a mission to envision a world that exists beyond societal expectations, cultural norms, and capitalist definitions of success. Valuing knowledge, progress, and frankness, it desires to use its intellect to work towards the coexistence of equity and individuality for all beings. Aquarius wants everyone to be free to let their freak flag fly, no matter their inherited or current circumstances.
As we kick off Aquarius Season, consider your hopes and dreams—for yourself and for the collective. How do they relate to one another? Do you personal values and beliefs align with or oppose those of society? What changes do you want to see in the world, and why? What actions can you take as an individual to work towards a more just future for all? Throughout this season, Aquarius will challenge us to consider the broader social implications of our decisions, and encourage us to explore the ways in which we champion humanitarian progress, equity, and liberation.

What’s more, this Aquarius Season is off to an extremely auspicious start. On Saturday, January 20 at 7:56PM ET—just a few hours after the Sun glides into the water bearer’s realm—Pluto enters Aquarius. This is a really big deal. Like, a really, really big deal. In fact, it’s one of the most significant transits of 2024. With a 248-year orbit, Pluto enters a new zodiac very rarely, only every 12–30 years. Believe it or not, the last time we experienced Pluto in Aquarius was during the late 1700s—a time of widespread social and political revolution.
Named after the god of the underworld, Pluto is the planet of death, rebirth, and transformation. It reveals large-scale power structures and universal truths. Since Pluto is so slow-moving, we can’t predict exactly how it will impact the collective. But, in the revolutionary sign of Aquarius, we can anticipate some pretty major developments in the realms of AI, technology, medicine, and social justice.
Note that Pluto is still in its transition phase. We experienced a short stint of Pluto in Aquarius last year, from March 23–June 11, 2023. This year, Pluto will venture back into Capricorn on September 1, 2024, before re-entering Aquarius a few months later on November 19, 2024. So, what does this mean? We’re still wrapping up Pluto in Capricorn stories related to governmental control and corporate power. We can expect this year to usher in some pretty significant endings and beginnings—and we’ll hopefully start to see the transfer of power into the hands of the people.
On Friday, we’ll be diving deeper into Pluto’s powerful presence and how this transit will impact you personally in our Aquarius Season horoscopes for paid subscribers.
Card of the Week
The More Difficult Species Find Protection Together (from Sara Stasi’s The Weird Science Deck of Curious Cards)
I mean, what’s more Aquarian than a weird science oracle deck? I couldn’t resist using these thought-provoking cards to usher us into Aquarius Season! This week’s pull is meant to make you think—it provides infinite avenues of interpretation, and at the end of this section, you’ll be invited to craft your own.
When I pulled this card, the concept of alienation immediately came to mind. Aquarius is no stranger to being the black sheep or the odd one out, and we, as a mystical community, have all likely experienced this energy at one point or another.
Of course, we are not “more difficult” people for loving astrology and the occult. Rather, I interpret this phrase to mean that we are more eccentric in our interests and beliefs. We are more curious in our cosmic explorations. We are more critical of the status quo. Often, we who love the occult need a bit more time to find our people. And that is completely okay.
So, as we transition into Aquarius Season, this card is a reminder to embrace your thoughtful, beautiful, quirky, curious, authentic self and invest in the communities that celebrate you. The people who are truly meant for you will adore your genuine self-expression.
Now, I want to invite you to explore your personal connection to this card. Grab a journal and pen, and follow the steps below:
For 30-seconds, gaze at the image of the card. Simply observe and absorb the words and imagery.
Then, for two-minutes, journal about your observations, and any thoughts or messages that came up while observing the card.
Re-read what you wrote. What words and phrases pop out? Circle them, and uncover your personal message.
