The Astrology Forecast
Hi beautiful friends! How are you acclimating to Capricorn Season? Are you feeling the shift in energy now that the daylight is beginning to lengthen? I hope you’re finding unexpected sources of strength and joy!
This week’s celestial happenings pack a punch. Truth, expansion, and self-tending are major themes we’ll be grappling with during the final week of 2023. You’re likely to feel a lot of push-and-pull as you await the countdown to the New Year. It’s a time to consider external and internal, wild abandon and responsibility, celebration and retreat, generosity and reserve, growth and introspection. Needless to say, there’s a lot of dynamic energy coming our way this week. Take it day-by-day, listen closely to your intuition, and let your innate wisdom help you maintain boundaries while also opening yourself up to expansive insight and opportunities.
On Tuesday, December 26 at 7:33PM ET, a Full Moon at 5° Cancer paints the cosmos, inviting us to reflect on the care-taking systems we have in place for ourselves. A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon are exactly opposite one another, creating electric celestial tension that encourages us earthlings to acknowledge the discrepancies between our internal worlds and our external realities. Moreover, it’s an invitation to take action towards balance—which, in the midst of the holiday season, is a much-needed invitation.
In fact, within the context of the Moon in Cancer, this balance has everything to do with how you’re tending to your own well-being. The Moon finds itself in domicile in Cancer, which is incredibly auspicious. The sensitive, care-taking sign of Cancer provides the Moon with all the resources it needs to fulfill its emotional needs and fortify its sense of comfort and security. This is really the Universe’s way of screaming, “You need to take care of yourself!”
The holidays are hard. We’re all navigating familial and societal structures that may or may not actually align with what we want and need. It can be an incredibly stressful, activating time. Accordingly, this Full Moon encourages you to embrace yourself with compassion and empathy. It reminds you that home is created from the inside out, and that your sense of security is an emotional frequency that you must fortify from within.
Under this lunation, explore what kind of parent you are to yourself. Do you nurture or criticize? Comfort or discipline? Help or abandon? With supportive connections being made to Jupiter and Saturn, the Full Moon presents you with a fruitful opportunity to identify and implement ways to give yourself more compassion, love, and stability, especially in a world that may not be so apt to offer you that type of tender loving care.

Your Guide to the Astrology of 2024
On Friday, December 29 at 1:01AM ET, Venus at 29° Scorpio—its position right before it enters Sagittarius—forms a sextile to Pluto at 29° Capricorn, compelling us to really face the lessons of Venus’ stint in Scorpio’s domain.
Over the past 4-weeks (since December 4), Venus in Scorpio has been encouraging us to explore the depths of our personal partnerships, our ability to carry out our values with integrity, our secret-keeping tendencies, and our relationship to intimacy. At its highest vibration, Venus in Scorpio teaches us that genuine, supportive relationships are built on a foundation of raw, soulful honesty. And, in order to achieve this honesty, we must partake in the hard work of facing our shadow and battling our inner demons.
Pluto—the planet of truth, power, excavation, and rebirth—catches Venus in the last degree of its transit through Scorpio, which is its not-so-subtle way of making sure we don’t carry any toxic or destructive dynamics over the threshold into Sagittarius’ domain. Pluto is a powerful force—it has no problem bringing secrets to light, addressing the deep depths of our psyches, or exposing self-destructive tendencies. While Venus in Scorpio can be sneaky, strategic, and *cough* manipulative *cough,* under Pluto’s watchful eye, these dynamics won’t fly.
Before we can enjoy the exciting expanse of Venus in Sagittarius, we must take full responsibility for the work we did—or didn’t do—while Venus was slithering through Scorpio. We must face ourselves—and our loved ones—with honesty and integrity. We must leave behind vengeful, manipulative desires. We must commit fully to emotional and relational transformation. We must come clean.
Honesty and adaptability are key on this day—be mindful of old habits dying hard. Embrace accountability. Lean into flexibility and evolution. Face the truth.
Just after Venus learns its final lessons under Pluto’s tutelage, it finds itself reborn in the sign of Sagittarius on Friday, December 29 at 3:23PM ET. This is a very significant energetic shift because Venus is leaving the sign of its detriment. In Scorpio, the planet of love and beauty is uncomfortable, to say the least. Venus wants everything to be beautiful and easeful and harmonious—but the Mars- and Pluto-ruled sign of Scorpio forces Venus into a realm of raw honesty, intense transformation, and harsh emotional truths.
As Venus enters Sagittarius, it escapes the underworld to take flight and find freedom in Sagittarius’ heavenward domain. It’s about time for a little levity! Venus in Sagittarius is vivacious. It’s flirtatious. It’s audacious. It’s ready to get wild.
Venus in Sagittarius desires to adventure and learn and grow and discover through its relationships. Driven by a sense of wanderlust, it values expansive experiences, romantic spontaneity, lively discussions, unencumbered freedom, and philosophical musings. Venus in Sagittarius wants our unfettered, heart-led passions to guide our partnerships, shape our artistic sensibilities, and inform our values.
So, throughout the next four-weeks, how can you infuse your relationships with a greater sense of adventure? What do you want to explore with your partner? In what ways do you desire to have greater personal freedom—separate from partnerships? How do concepts of liberation and adventure and knowledge factor into your value system?
This transit also has the tendency to make us avoidant of dissent and discomfort. Oftentimes, Venus in Sagittarius will choose to embark on a far-away adventure in lieu of facing conflict head-on. It’s important to bring awareness to how you’re approaching tension in your relationships during this time.
Up until January 23 (when Venus leaves the archer’s domain), use Capricorn’s energy—the Sun, the Moon, Mars, and Mercury will all coincide with Venus in Sagittarius!—to remain rooted in reality and committed to authenticity. With a solid foundation in place, this Venusian transit has the capacity to revitalize our spirits in inspiring, insightful ways. Take advantage of this expansive energy to reinvigorate your relationships with passion, spontaneity, and wonder. This is a great time to make new connections, experiment with your aesthetic, and activate different dimensions of your values.
Finally, on Saturday, December 30 at 9:40PM ET, Jupiter goes direct at 5° Taurus. Since September 4, 2023, the planet of luck and expansion has been cruising backwards, evoking large-scale reflection on our collective hopes, societal philosophies, and cultural beliefs. Since Jupiter is a slow-moving planet—taking about 12-years to complete its orbit—its impact tends to be more long-term and big-picture. It’s less about our personal experiences, and more about the broader conditions shaping our current cultural moment.
When Jupiter shifts to direct motion, it’s time to integrate the lessons, insights, and discoveries from the past four-months into our collective reality. What shifts in pop culture and world events have you observed since September 4? How have those circumstances influenced your perspective? Jupiter’s time in Taurus is officially waning. It started its cycle in the sign of the bull on May 16, 2023, and will officially vacate the domain on May 25, 2024. As such, we may start to witness the beginnings of the endings of stories that originated in May 2023.
