Hello friends! Today we’re cleaning up after Talula’s big 1st birthday party, which I had been planning and coordinating for weeks. There were a few house projects I wanted to complete, and having people over was good motivation to finally get them done. Would you be interested in seeing some pics of my favorite areas of my home? I’ve been thinking about how the first several months of motherhood—when Talula was a tiny, little newborn—were pensive, reflective, and introspectively lush. Nursing, sleeping, not sleeping, nursing, nursing, nursing. Flowing through short days and long nights: I was enveloped in the portal, what’s often referred to as the “fourth trimester.”
But, somewhere between then and now, I have moved beyond the threshold. And Talula has, too. As she grows, and is now—before my eyes—transitioning from baby to toddler, the tonality of motherhood is changing. It’s becoming active, vibrant, external. Days are anchored by activities, so there’s less time for existential mulling. It’s planning, doing, and organizing. We’re in a different season now, and—naturally—my sensitive Pisces Moon heart is consumed by recent-history nostalgia. I can’t believe my little bunny is a one year old!

Midweek, the tension between Venus and Mars builds.
On Thursday, December 12, Venus in Aquarius opposes Mars Rx in Leo, creating a notable push-pull dynamic between connection and individuality. Venus in Aquarius craves freedom and unconventionality, while Mars in Leo demands recognition and authenticity. This opposition may stir up unresolved tension in relationships or creative endeavors, forcing us to examine how we balance independence with intimacy. As the week progresses, Mercury in Sagittarius (still retrograde at this time) will form a sextile to Venus in Aquarius early Friday morning, bringing a softer, more harmonious energy to communication and relationships. Sagittarius and Aquarius share a love of ideas and innovation, so this aspect encourages us to think outside the box and explore new perspectives. The weekend delivers powerful turning points.
But the weekend is when the real magic happens. Sunday, December 15—in particular—is packed with major activity, starting with the Full Moon in Gemini at 23º. Gemini, ruled by Mercury, thrives on curiosity, conversation, and duality, making this Full Moon a time to explore multiple perspectives and seek answers to lingering questions. This lunation invites us to release outdated narratives and embrace the fluidity of thought, trusting that the answers we seek may come from unexpected places. The Gemini-Sagittarius axis highlights the balance between gathering information and finding wisdom, so use this Full Moon to align your knowledge with your truth.
Then, just hours after the Mercury-ruled Full Moon, Mercury stations direct at 6º Sagittarius, marking the end of its retrograde journey. That was fast!!! Mercury’s direct motion signals a shift forward, allowing us to integrate the lessons of the past few weeks and move ahead with greater clarity. If you’ve felt stuck, scattered, or uncertain, this transit helps restore focus and momentum, especially in areas related to communication, planning, and confidence. J’adore.
