Gemini season is in full swing and—last week—we got a taste of what to expect now that Jupiter is gliding through this quick-moving air sign’s domain.
The first glaringly obvious Jupiter in Gemini influence came by way of social media. In response to Israel’s brutal attacks of Rafah, over 46 million people reshared an AI-generated image on Instagram and Facebook, which simultaneously raised awareness for these horrible atrocities and catalyzed dozens of other strange copycat AI memes.
We’ll come back to this in a moment, but as a quick refresher: Jupiter is the planet of expansion. It spends approximately one-year in each zodiac sign, and the zodiacal domain it occupies defines the spirit of the year. I’ve been tracking this phenomenon actively since 2017, and the correspondence is pretty phenomenal. (But you know… TANC.)
Here are some of the most notable correlations since 2017:
Jupiter in Scorpio: The rise of the #MeToo movement (Scorpio is associated with clandestine abuses of power)
Jupiter in Sagittarius: Trump’s first impeachment (Sagittarius is associated with legal institutions), COVID spread around the world (Sagittarius represents long-distance travel)
Jupiter in Capricorn: Pandemic declared, COVID fatalities (especially among the elderly—Capricorn is associated with both death & the aging process), and lockdowns (Capricorn is governed by Saturn, the planet of restriction)
Jupiter in Aquarius: The mass distribution of COVID vaccines (Aquarius is associated with innovations in medicine) and Black Lives Matter protests (as the revolutionary of the zodiac, Aquarius is associated with all social justice matters)
Jupiter in Pisces: Post-pandemic return to normalcy (Pisces loves rose-colored glasses) & the emergence of new celebrity culture via TikTok (Pisces is associated with the entertainment industry)
Jupiter in Aries: Public expressions of dominance, ego, and power, such as Russia invading Ukraine, Elon Musk purchasing Twitter, and the Supreme Court overturning Roe vs. Wade (Aries is aggressive, machismo, and impulsive)
Jupiter in Taurus: Consumerism and materialism are both revered and challenged (think: Taylor Swift’s concerts vs. her private jet usage). Deep conversations about land, settlers, and colonialism through Israel’s destruction of Gaza (Taurus is associated with all things physical, corporeal, and tangible, including the economy, environment, and the land’s indigenous inhabitants)
Obviously there are many other domestic and international events that took place over the past seven years, but the above show cases some of the most striking correlations to Jupiter’s transits.
And—just a little over one week ago—Jupiter glided into Gemini’s domain. While Jupiter prefers to discuss the meaning of life over a ten-course-meal (paired with a few bottles of good Chianti), Gemini simply doesn’t have time for that. Gemini double-booked their calendar (naturally), so they can only stay and chat for… I don’t know… 10 minutes? You’ll need to give Gemini the highlights, and make it fast.
Perhaps you already see where this is going. When it comes to high-stakes situations, Jupiter in Gemini’s emphasis on speed over accuracy may have problematic implications. This video details why the “All Eyes on Rafah” viral AI-generated meme makes it harder for real images, real facts, and real information to be disseminated. In a world that’s becoming increasingly flooded with fabrication, how can we stay anchored in what’s actually going on? What can we trust? What can we believe? Similarly, this article from Al Jazeera discusses how the virality of the AI-generated meme is a double-edged sword, both drawing attention to the violence and detracting from the truth.
And this type of two-pronged effect—one that may have both positive and negative results—will be a hallmark of the Jupiter in Gemini experience. Consider another major event that happened last week: Trump (a Gemini, fwiw) is now a convinced felon! Omg! But will this further galvanize his base? Can a convinced felon actually become President? If that isn’t Gemini coded, I don’t know what is.
This week, the Gemini narrative continues, with Mercury entering Gemini (its domicile) on Monday. Then, a New Moon in Gemini touches down on Thursday, June 6. New Moons are about beginnings, and since Gemini is mobilized through communication, this is an excellent time to speak your desires into action. I’ll be hosting a Coven Meeting in the Constellation Club on Thursday, June 6 at 8PM EST (if you can’t make the live, replays are available). We’ll be learning about what this lunation means for you, planting seeds, and making some beautiful manifestation magic. Hope to see you there!

I really enjoyed this article about protecting one of the world’s oldest trees in Palestine—note that it’s from 2020, but according to this Instagram post the family has kept the ancient tree safe as of Fall 2023.
