Hi, beautiful friends! How has Aquarius Season been treating you? Are you feeling hopeful for the future? Inspired by your capacity to innovate? How have you been embracing concepts of faith, progress, and collective improvement?
This week, the celestial emphasis on Aquarian energy continues, and Chiron—the comet that represents healing—enters the cosmic chat in some major ways. The next 7-days are ripe for realization, compassion, and innovation. You’ll be invited into profound honesty and vulnerability. Cultivate patience for yourself and others, and be present with where you’re at and where you hope to be. We all have the potential to engage in deep healing work and receive divine inspiration this week. Let’s get to it!
On Monday February 5 at 12:10AM ET, Mercury—the planet of communication, cognition, language, and analysis—enters forward-thinking Aquarius. Since January 13 of this year, Mercury has been cruising through Capricorn’s hard-working domain, encouraging us to transform our thoughts into utilitarian action. Mercury in Capricorn is grounded and structured in its thinking, prioritizing efficient communication and pragmatic systems.
Now that Mercury is entering Aquarius’ innovative realm, our minds shift from the practical dealings of the present to the progressive possibilities of the future. This marks an essential pivot: While Mercury in Capricorn was instrumental in implementing our ideas, we need Aquarius to help us imagine what doesn’t yet exist. Mercury in Aquarius activates our inquisitive spirits and inspires us to craft visions for the future that extend beyond the existing structures and status quo. It invites us to utilize both analysis and creativity to advocate for a more equitable world.
Aquarius is a fixed air sign ruled by Saturn—the planet of structure—and Uranus—the planet of revolution—meaning Mercury is both opinionated and imaginative when traversing this airy terrain. Throughout the next three-weeks (until February 23), you’ll be encouraged to indulge your curiosities, pursue your niche interests, and engage in illuminating dialogue. It’s an optimal time to challenge yourself intellectually and learn something new.
Given Aquarius’ kinship with Uranus’ revolutionary nature, your intellectual pursuits are likely to broach topics of cultural norms—and how to disrupt them—, societal systems, and humanitarian issues. How do you define your role in the collective, and your commitment to progress? How do you express your beliefs? How can you use your voice to build a better world for all? In fact, just a few hours after Mercury enters Aquarius, at 7:58AM ET, it will form a conjunction to Pluto at 0° Aquarius, imploring you to challenge your beliefs, excavate deep truths, and embrace ideological transformation.
While Aquarius is ruled by innovative Uranus, it is a fixed sign, meaning it isn’t always the best at embracing change—it certainly has a stubborn side. So, for the next three-weeks, be extra mindful of dogmatism and one-sided arguments. Remember that it’s okay to engage with disparate ideas and to change your mind. On Saturday, February 10 at 8:25AM ET, Mercury at 8° Aquarius will form square to Jupiter at 8° Taurus, creating a communication stalemate. On this day, practice patience and active listening. Try to find common ground instead of clinging so tightly to your established beliefs. It’s absolutely essential that we learn how to facilitate conversations with those we disagree with if we want to create better futures.

On Monday, February 5 at 6:49AM ET, Venus at 16° Capricorn forms a tense square to Chiron at 16° Aries. Venus—the planet of love, beauty, and values—in the stoic sign of Capricorn takes its relationships and belief systems very seriously. Chiron represents the wounded healer, shedding light on past hurts and the need for compassion. In Aries, Chiron fights for its right to heal and express its authenticity; it desires to mend its wounds through bold individuality.
As Venus comes face-to-face with Chiron, don’t be surprised if you’re feeling a little extra vulnerable or melancholy today. Past insecurities may resurface, or you may be confronted with extra stress surrounding your relationships and what you hold close to your heart. In the face of icky-sticky emotions, you might be compelled to use anger or confrontation as a coping mechanism, instead of addressing what’s really going on beneath the surface.
In lieu of jumping to conclusions, instigating futile arguments, or projecting your insecurities onto others, cultivate the courage to sit with the emotions that come up, to the best of your ability. Consider, what past hurts need tending? Are there memories you’ve locked away that are starting to rustle around and vie for your attention? In what ways have you felt like you’re the only one fighting for your right to love, stability, and happiness?
While it may feel especially uncomfortable today, open your heart, get vulnerable, and ask for support. Journal about your feelings or talk them out with trusted loved ones. Implement grounding practices (like guided meditation, time in nature, or a yoga class) to honor your mind-body connection. Remember, you don’t need to solve everything on your own. True friends and loved ones want to support you through thick and thin. Asking for help is an act of bravery.
On Friday, February 9 at 5:59PM ET, the Sun and Moon meet up at 20° Aquarius, forming a powerful New Moon. A New Moon is a time of deep introspection and authentic intention-setting. With no external illumination in the night sky, we must listen intently to our inner-guidance and follow our own light. We’re encouraged to hone our intuition, embrace our innate creativity, and trust the divine inspiration that emerges from deep within the cosmos.
In the sign of Aquarius—representing progress, innovation, humanitarianism, and social systems—the New Moon invites us consider our relationship to society at large and our capacity to innovate. What progressive pivots do you want to see in your life and in the lives of others? How can you cultivate the courage to catalyze the change you want to see? How are you using your voice to serve the collective?
What’s more, this invitation is especially potent due to the New Moon’s square to Uranus at 19° Taurus. Uranus is the planet of shock and awe, representing rebellion, revelation, ingenuity, and sudden change. Under this celestial influence, the New Moon has the power to generate some pretty major—and unanticipated—discoveries or shifts. You may gain surprising insight into the ways in which your identity and your past experiences are intertwined, or unveil important aspects of your intuition, or reveal the depth and breadth of your creative potential. Uranus is the opposite of subtle, so its influence can be pretty jarring. While we tend to resist change and newfound perspectives, under this New Moon, challenge yourself to maintain an open mind. Remember: The Universe is ultimately working in your favor. Change is scary, but necessary.
What’s more, this New Moon forms a trine to the South Node at 17° Libra, the celestial point in the sky that illuminates our soul’s past. The South Node reveals our tried-and-true coping mechanisms—but also highlights what we we’re moving away from in order to align with our greatest purpose. When the South Node is activated in the sky, we have the tendency to fall back into old patterns and rely on behaviors that don’t actually serve us anymore.
The good news is that the North Node and South Node are always activated in tandem. The North Node symbolizes destiny and spiritual purpose—it represents the soul’s mission in this lifetime. Accordingly, the New Moon forms a sextile to the North Node at 17° Aries. What’s more, Chiron is also involved, joining the sextile at 16° Aries. Chiron represents our deepest wounds and where we’re invited to heal—both ourselves and others—in this lifetime.
The confluence of all these celestial forces marks a pivotal check-point in the process of self-actualization. It encourages us to examine how we can integrate innovation, creativity, and collective consciousness into our healing journeys, from both a micro and macro prospective. What are you healing from, and what tangible steps are you taking to mend your heart? How does your own individual healing journey ripple outwards to serve communities you’re a part of? How does your commitment to collective liberation inform your own healing journey?
While it’s “easier” (yet more painful in the long run) to shove our wounds aside and focus on the positive, it is absolutely essential that we cultivate the courage to heal. It takes immense bravery to face your past, to acknowledge pain and sorrow and anger, to metabolize the ways in which you were wronged—or wronged others—throughout your life. AND, it is an essential component of collective progress, which is what Aquarius is all about.
So, under this New Moon, use your intuition and ingenuity to set intentions that foster progress. Open your mind to creative and innovative modes of self-tending and forward motion. Let the Universe surprise you with its wisdom. Embrace unexpected invitations. Have faith in your capacity for compassion, improvement, and growth. When we seize the opportunity to actively engage in our own healing, we create networks of love, progress, and empowerment that fortify our communities—local and global.
After all, Aquarius understands that none of us is free until we’re all free.
In Constellation Club, we’ll be performing a dynamic manifestation ceremony to celebrate the New Moon in Aquarius. Join our Coven Meeting this coming Thursday, February 8 at 8PM ET. Can’t wait to see you there! (P.S. replays are available!)
