Notable Astrology Happenings
Monday, March 11 5:50PM ET: Venus enters Pisces
Sunday, March 17 7:22AM ET: Sun conjunct Neptune (27° Pisces)
My niece visited a few weeks ago. She’s in her second year at Harvard Divinity School, so we always have really interesting conversations about… well, God.
During this most recent trip, we were talking about the different manifestations of God in Catholicism—the Holy Trinity—and how each expression (The Father, The Son, the Holy Spirit) captures a particular essence of the divine.
Jesus, she explained, was the human touchpoint. Jesus is relatable. Jesus understands. Jesus just gets the trials and tribulations of the human experience.
“Jesus says to love your enemy—loving them while accepting them as your enemy.”
This, she explained, is true radical acceptance; it’s the highest level of genuine, universal love.
I’ve continued ruminating on that conversation, which feels especially apropos during Pisces Season—and perhaps even more so this week, as Venus enters Pisces and the Sun joins Neptune. From Monday through Sunday, the cosmos are inviting us to go deep. How deep? As deep as possible.
To the bottom of our hearts.
To the bottom of the ocean.
According to the astrological principle of essential dignities, Venus is exalted in Pisces, which means Venus is operating at its highest vibration. Venus is the planet of adoration, relationships, and values, while Pisces is associated with deep compassion, unending love, and spiritual devotion. Venus’ planetary roles are enhanced in the sign of Pisces, which creates a delicious fusion of celestial energy— a kaleidoscope of cosmic reciprocity.
This psychedelic amalgam is further amplified when the Sun aligns with Neptune, forming its annual union. Neptune—the distant ice-giant at the edge of our solar system—governs dreams, psychic powers, and creative pursuits. It’s mystical. It’s otherworldly. It’s everything and it’s nothing; the epicenter of the astral realm.
Since 2011, Neptune has been spinning in Pisces, which most modern astrologers (present company included) refer to as its “domicile” (a.k.a. its home base). So, for the past 13-years, the Sun has been forming this yearly connection during Pisces Season—the last stop before the new zodiacal year begins with Aries Season. As we’ve been discussing, Pisces Season is all about harnessing psychic powers. Cultivating intuition. Embracing surrender.
Between Venus’ motion into Pisces and the Sun’s union with Neptune, this week, there’s no shortage of love. We can—and should!—celebrate the ability to explore the incredible, vibrant, limitless expressions of love. We should exude fearless, Herculean devotion; loving our enemies with the rich vibration of adoration that swirls in our bellies like goldfish.
Pour out, commands Neptune, empty yourself for love!
But just as we cannot pour form an empty cup, the Sun cannot shine at the bottom of the ocean. The Sun—the star at the center of our solar system—is at home in Leo and exalted in Aries, fire signs that demand visibility. Warmth. Ego!!! While the Sun is happy to tango with Neptune and support Venus’ journey through Pisces, this fierce celestial body knows its limits.
We are not victims, says the Sun. Our love is rooted in confidence. Empowerment. Justice. Authenticity. Compromising yourself is not love—it’s loss. The Sun reminds us that we cannot love others if we don’t know how to love ourselves.
And that means loving ourselves as the imperfect, chronically incomplete beings that we are. Loving ourselves not in spite of our perceived flaws—but because of those oblong blemishes and oddities that define our character. Maybe Jesus was instructing us to, first, love the enemy within. Maybe that’s the foundation of true devotional, radical acceptance.
So, as the Sun shines on Pisces’ ocean—vibrant, bright sparkles on the surface of the vast unknown—remember that your love will only ever be as deep as you can go with yourself. So dive in. Explore it. Sanctify it. And never, ever forget to come up for air.
In Constellation Club, we’ll be performing a dynamic ceremony to celebrate the New Moon in Pisces. Join our Coven Meeting TONIGHT Monday, March 11 at 8PM ET. Can’t wait to see you there! (P.S. replays are available!)
